About Konexis - Like any good solution, Konexis came out of a real-world need.

At Konvergent, the owners of Konexis, 90% of our strategic consulting work included a strategic roadmap as a final deliverable. About Konvergent –

Konvergent is a boutique strategy and architecture company established in 2015. We have worked closely with a host of global clients to help develop strategic change initiatives and make better technology investment decisions. We work closely with CEOS, CIOs, and CTOS of companies with about 10,000+ employees and know how well this level of person reacts to a roadmap.

The issues with
Roadmap Tooling.

The strategic roadmap’s nature —that it drives actions, decisions, and consensus on long-term decisions—meant it was the one artefact that was debated most at the CxO level in our final presentations. However, when producing these roadmaps, we encountered some consistent issues:
  • None of the current roadmap tools on the market were any use. They were either product-focused roadmaps, where strategy is an afterthought or overly complex tools such as Planview that are not suited for the type of engagement.
  • Not one platform offered a sunray or now/next/future canvas that is needed to get everything available on a page, and is the market of a proper strategic roadmap
  • Nearly every strategic roadmap was only either a PowerPoint template

This left two options: either use PowerPoint templates like everyone else, or try something different.

A Unique Tool.

So, we decided to do something different. We built an interactive prototype strategic roadmap, which was used to great success across numerous clients, including Arup, British Library, Tesco Business Services, Avalere Health, WPP, Dunelm among others.

We had such overwhelming support and positive feedback that we had a decision to make on whether to make it a fully fledged strategic roadmap tool. The tipping point came during a presentation for Tesco Business Services, where the CEO, Sumit Mitra, said “I love it, I love it” and agreed to become Konexis’s first ever customer.

Konexis was launched in spring of 2024 and a growing a very loyal following for customers including Burberry, ACCA, Marlink, Reed in Partnership, Network Rail, University of Southampton, as we are the aforementioned companies.

It is still unique, in that it is the only tool that offers sunray canvas as view but is developing many more features to enable users to bridge the gap between strategy and execution, offering views and features that no other tool offer.

Meet the Team

Ben Clark

CEO

Ben was the first to see the potential of an interactive strategic roadmap. During a meeting with a key client, he could not help but observe the poor quality of the strategic roadmap being used to drive change and consensus across an 18,000-person company: one page of dots on a Sunray canvas, with 25 pages of text behind it. The digital change team was not getting buy-in for their vision and wanted to know what they could do better!

Ben co-founded Konvergent in 2015, which has become one of the most respected strategy and architecture consulting companies in the UK. He is known for his often entertaining, if not slightly outspoken, views on LinkedIn and is a passionate believer in how great visual communication is essential for digital teams, in particular, to land their agendas.
